From Humble Beginnings to a Bold Brand: The Story of Crooked & Straight

Every brand has a story, and ours begins with a shared fascination for true crime and a desire to create something extraordinary. At Crooked & Straight, our journey from selling on online marketplaces to becoming a unique brand was shaped by passion, creativity, and an incredible community of true crime enthusiasts.

Where It All Began

Like many ventures, we started small. In 2019, we dipped our toes into the world of e-commerce by selling a handful of true crime-inspired t-shirts on popular marketplaces such as Etsy and Amazon. The designs were simple but struck a chord with those who, like us, couldn’t get enough of true crime documentaries, podcasts, and books exploring the darker side of life.

The response was overwhelming. People didn’t just want to wear clothing—they wanted pieces that told a story, sparked curiosity, and reflected their unique interests. Seeing this connection, we realized we were onto something bigger than just selling apparel.

Turning Passion Into a Brand

As our marketplace sales grew, so did our ambition. We listened to feedback, expanded our product line, and refined our designs.

In 2022, we made the leap and launched Crooked & Straight as a full-fledged brand with its own online store. We admit, it has been a work in progress but it's a labor of love. Our brand name reflects our love for the My Favorite Murder podcast which was the true crime podcast that we were ridiculously obsessed with.

Today we have made over 5,000 sales on Etsy and other marketplaces and our success is evidenced by our 5-Star review average of over 1,200 customer reviews. We are committed to customer service and we look forward to serving our loyal customers on our very own website!
